About Margaret Kinnevy, RN, LAc

Margaret began her professional career as an RN in her hometown at the Jersey shore, working in community hospitals, home care, and public health settings.  Upon moving to Philadelphia for graduate school, her interests led her to work in large medical centers, home care, and long term care. As she assisted her patients through challenges of acute and chronic illness, she saw both the strengths and weaknesses of the American system of health care.
Margaret encountered TCM, traditional Chinese medicinewhen it had been recommended to address two separate life-threatening conditions faced by her youngest son. TCM helped identify root factors of his condition, allowing simple strategies, and safer medical interventions to be used. With an integrative and holistic approach, pharmaceuticals with adverse side effects were no longer needed.

Eager to learn more about safe and effective options,  Margaret studied Oriental Medicine (OM). She is board certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Practices for cultivating health and treating illness  were formalized into a medical system around 1000 BCE.  Chinese medicine from Confucian and Daoist traditions have improved the lives of millions around the globe.  Practices from the east that are in wide use in the US include meditation, dietary therapy, yoga/reiki/qigong/taichi, acupuncture, and acupressure.

Margaret addresses patients' health concerns through use of the above, along with guidance on navigating both systems of care to address health concerns. She sees patients at Healing Arts Studio as well as her residential office, The Little Farma in Mt. Airy.
