Strong and Steady Yoga for All Bodies: Mat-Based Class

Having a Strong and Steady Yoga practice builds strength, energy, and resilience. The focused movements fortify you as you spend time outdoors during the coming cooler weather and shortening days. 

Together we experience yoga as a grounding physical practice for standing strong and steady in the world. The theme for our weekly classes this fall will be an exploration of the major joints of the body: knees, hips, shoulders, neck, ankles, wrists, and of course, the spine.

The mat-based class (Saturdays 9:15 – 10:30 am) is a deeply energizing and joyful practice aligning movement and breath for anyone wanting to move with more fluidity and awareness

These gentle classes are an intelligent, energizing and joyful practice aligning movement and breath – a perfect lead-in for the weekend! Throughout, we build strength and steadiness through movement that:

  • tones the body & supports balance
  • frees up joints, breath and energy
  • releases stuck emotions and obsessive thoughts
  • brings more clarity to the mind
  • opens the heart to engage courageously with the world around us!

This class is on-going and open for drop-in attendance! It is organized into multi-week sessions to reduce cost for regular participants.  

Session Dates and Time: Saturday, September 9th – Saturday, October 28th, 2017 (8 weeks), 9:15 - 10:30 am

Cost:   $125 for the 8-week session ($20 drop-in)

Note:      Wear comfortable clothes and come with a water bottle, yoga mat and props (if you have them). Some mats, blocks and straps are on hand.

Esther Wyss-Flamm, PhD, EdM, E-RYT connects individuals and groups with their innate strength, power, and joy. She is a Kripalu-certified yoga teacher with specific training in yoga for chronic health conditions. For the past 10 years, Esther has been teaching privately and in group settings in Philadelphia.
